If you haven’t heard of Carolin Pilligrath otherwise known by her instagram handle as @breathingtravel she’s a travel influencer you should be adding to your ‘follow’ list. Not only does Carolin take a beautiful pic but there’s a real authentic vibe to her blog and her captions. She’s not adding a thousand filters to her photos, she’s impartial to a rosé and we’re pretty sure that she knows the hidden gems that you’d want to go to.
In 2014, she quit her job, left her flat, sold her belongings and became a full-time traveller #goals. When she’s not going a thousand miles an hour, you can find her relaxing in Fiji! Well not really, but she’s been there and we were dying to pick her brain on what to do and where to go.
Tell us a little bit about yourself...
I’m Carolin, originally from Germany, but today travelling the world for a living. Since becoming a digital nomad almost 4 years ago, I have called many places home: Chiang Mai, Darwin, Sydney, Bali, Barcelona and Brisbane. In total, I have been to over 30+ countries to date. I always knew I wasn’t made for an ordinary life where I just work to pay the bills. And Iove telling stories and giving travel advice and tips about my long-term travel adventures on my blog breathingtravel.com and hope to inspire others to choose to live their life with no regrets or limits. You can ask me anything about housesitting, Instagram, being a digital nomad and Australia, my favourite country in the world.
What made you want to travel to Fiji
Who doesn’t dream of tropical beaches, swaying palm trees, crystal-clear water and snorkelling with colourful fish? Before I went, everyone told me Fiji would present me with a mix of culture, great food, natural beauty and luxury, and it was exactly that and more. Plus, it’s not far from Australia.
