Where is Port Denarau Marina?

We are located close to Nadi town and the Nadi International Airport on Denarau Island, Viti Levu.

By sea we are half way between Momi passage and Lautoka at 17 46’18”S, 177 22’56”E. The channel is clearly marked by floating buoys with lights.


How can I get to town and other places from the Marina?

There are yellow buses that services the island. It comes to the Marina every half hour starting from 6am – 12am. The bus goes around the island then to Nadi Town. In town you will find the Bus Station where there are other bus services which goes towards Lautoka and to Suva.

There are hire taxis that are available at the marina, this is infront of the Passenger Terminal Building.

For Rental Cars you can inquire at the Reservations office or with your agent services accordingly.


How do I get a SIM card for Digicel/Vodafone?

You can get both Digicel/ Vodafone SIM cards from the Reservations office. The following is available:

  • Digicel Voice SIM cards
  • Vodafone Voice & Data SIM Cards
  • Vodafone Pocket WiFi Device
  • Top-ups is also available

How do we reserve a berth?

Berths can be reserved via email or reservations@denaraumarina.com or +679 675 0600.  We can also be contacted on VHF 14.


What are the marina office hours?

The marina office is open as follows:

  • During the Yachting Season (April – November) – 0800 – 1800hrs
  • During the off Season (November – April) – 0800 – 1700hrs

The marina has security staff on site 24 hours a day who can be contacted at the main security booth or on 7075651.


Does the marina have security?

The marina has roaming security guards 24 hours a day as well as CCTV and swipe card access to the main visiting jetty.

There is also a police station on site also manned 24 hours per day.


Can we clear into Fiji at Port Denarau Marina?

Yes you can clear in at Port Denarau Marina. You will however have to send through your forms 48hrs prior to arrival to yachtsreport@frcs.org.fj  Once your appropriate forms are sent to the authorities, please advise our Reservations Team accordingly for the assistance in the facilitation.

Can we book day trips and transfers through Port Denarau Marina?

We do not take bookings through our office or our website.   Our customers can be contacted directly through their websites which are linked in our resources section.


Can I get work done at the marina?

The marina boat yard has a 50 ton travel lift with service area.

On site services include repairs and maintenance, painting, detailing, welding, mechanics, electrical engineers, sail maker, hydraulic engineers, refrigeration and air conditioning. There are also two chandleries on site.


What size vessels can you cater for?

We cater to all types of vessels up to 80m LOA.  Maximum draft is 5m.


Is there any entertainment at Port Denarau Marina?

On site there are 7 restaurants and bars which provide a great range of choice.

Most nights there are live bands and there is a cultural show every Thursday and Saturday nights.

Denarau Island has over 30 restaurants to choose from.

There is also an international 18 hole golf course on the island as well as tours and daytrips.


Do you have pump out facilities?

We do have pump out facilities on Jetty B and the Fuel Jetty currently. Should you wish to use our Pump out facility you can liaise with the Marina office on +679 6750600/ +679 7760600/ Channel 14 on the VHF.


Can we anchor at Port Denarau Marina?

Port Denarau Marina offers berths and moorings.

Due to area restrictions and for the comfort of all of our guests, anchoring is prohibited within Port Denarau Marina.

Anchoring is available out the front of the resorts.


Is there a doctor and dentist on site?

A medical centre is available on the island opposite Sheraton Villas during normal working hours also a 24 hour doctor and emergency service is available in Nadi. The number to the Private Medical Centre in Nadi is +679 6703533/ +679 9996366.

There are also a couple of very good dentists in Nadi.

The marina office can arrange this for you.


Is the marina open during cyclone season?

Port Denarau Marina is open all year round and some of the best cruising and fishing can be done during the cyclone season.

During a cyclone event all vessels are evacuated to Mangroves near by and the marina can assist customers to prepare for this eventuality.

 

How easy is it to provision?

There is a supermarket, chemist and bakery on site.

For large shops we recommend one of the large supermarkets and the local markets in Nadi and Namaka.

These areas can be accessed via bus or taxi and are only 15 minutes drive away.


Do you sell fuel?

We sell diesel, unleaded petrol and premix through our suppliers Pacific Energy.

Fuel sales are open from 0800 to 1800 hours, 7 days a week.

All fuel prices in Fiji are fixed by the Commerce Commission.



Customs & Immigration

What sort of clearance do I need to cruise the Fiji waters?

You will require a cruising permit which can be requested at the Marina office. The cruising permit will be in iTaukei language. You are required to take this with you every time you would like to go to shore.

You are also required to have a coastal clearance and this allows your vessel to cruise in Fiji waters and at times will be required by customs at various destinations in Fiji. To obtain the coastal clearance you will need to fill in the form and with a copy of your cruising permit, copy of your clearance in paper that states your rotation number. The paperwork has to then be presented to a customs officer to be stamped.


What steps do I take if I have some crew changes for my vessel?

If you are wanting to sign on crew you will need to fill in Crew Change Form A

If you are wanting to sign off crew you will need to fill in Crew Change Form B

Once the proper forms are filled in this will then need to be taken to Immigration office either in Lautoka or at Nadi Airport. You will need to take your vessel documents with a copy of your crew list for this adjustment to be made. A copy of the crew passport and plane ticket may also be required.


How could I get a one way ticket exemption for a crew/ vessel owner(s)?

You will need to get a one way ticket exemption should you have crew(s) that will be joining your vessel or leaving the country and coming back to re-join the vessel. Please note that if vessel owner(s) or crew(s) do not have this one way ticket exemption letter from Immigration, at the airport they will be requested to purchase a return ticket before entering the country.

The steps in attaining an exemption letter is as follows:

  1. Photocopy of the crew(s)/owner(s) passport
  2. Print a copy of the flight ticket
  3. Request letter from the skipper if it is a crew(s) is coming to join your vessel. If you are the vessel owner, you will not need this letter to re-join your vessel.
  4. If your vessel is going to be berthed at the marina when you fly in, you can request a letter from the marina to be addressed to immigration stating the vessel will be in the marina upon your return.
  5. Application will then need to be taken to Immigration office at the airport/ Lautoka office with a FJ$13.00 fee/ crew or owner, then exemption letter will be processed.

Is the marina open during cyclone season?

Port Denarau Marina is open all year round and some of the best cruising and fishing can be done during the cyclone season.

During a cyclone event all vessels are evacuated to Mangroves near by and the marina can assist customers to prepare for this eventuality.

 

When is the cyclone season in Fiji?

The official cyclone season is from November to the end of April every year although some cyclones have been reported outside of this period.

How easy is it to provision?

There is a supermarket, chemist and bakery on site.

For large shops we recommend one of the large supermarkets and the local markets in Nadi and Namaka.

These areas can be accessed via bus or taxi and are only 15 minutes drive away.


Do you sell fuel?

We sell diesel, unleaded petrol and premix through our suppliers Pacific Energy.

Fuel sales are open from 0800 to 1800 hours, 7 days a week.
